A Valentine from My Son In Heaven

A Valentine from My Son In Heaven

I know the attached photograph of space was downloaded onto this computer by my son Justin.  Currently [I am using Justin's computer]. I have been using Justin's computer since mine 'bit the dust' about 8 months ago.

Last night, February 15, 2014, this photograph suddenly appeared on the desktop! I personally [haven't seen this photograph the entire 8 months]?

Pardon me if I prefer to revel in the fact that this beautiful creation of gas and debris [in my eyes] resembles a heart, the coloring is beautifully tinted pink and only one day has passed since Valentines...

Happy Heavenly Valentine's Baby~I love and miss you honey, Justin's [wistful] momma

CORRECTION!!!!

When I typed "I know this is something Justin put on here..." I hope the readers understood I meant he downloaded the photo of space on his computer prior to his passing! I do not believe Justin downloaded this photo last night! I'm not that far 'out there' yet!

It was just such a coincidence to see this phenomenal photograph for the first time last night!  Seriously, to my eyes I see a heart [probably because I want to so badly] and probably because Valentines day just passed for the FOURTH time with me hear nothing from my beautiful son...no matter what the reason...I still see a heart and I feel love.

What ever the reason, even if it is just coincidence, I appreciate the beauty of this particular grouping of dust, gases and debris somewhere way out there in the universe that made me gasp in awe, my heart swell and feel love still from my son in Heaven, Justin DeSha-Overcash.

Justin's [I really love my son] momma

PALMER PARK, Md. – As rain poured from the sky, words of anger, sadness and determination poured from the mouth of Karen DeSha.

DeSha is the mother of Justin DeSha-Overcash, a 22-year-old University of Maryland senior shot to death in his home in January.

“We’re in a very elite club,” DeSha said. “Parents of murdered children.”

Since February, DeSha has been driving here once a month from her home in North Carolina to demonstrate in front of Prince George’s County Police headquarters in what she said is an attempt to get enough people angry about murder in the county to do something about it.

There have been 35 homicides in Prince George’s County this year.

“This is my mission,” DeSha said. “It’s my road, until something good comes from (what happened).”

She talked about the anger she felt when police emphasized that drugs were found in the College Park, Md., home her son shared with roommates.

She cried when she said she’d never see her son marry and have children of his own.

Pedestrians walking on a sidewalk across from her spot on Barlowe Road shouted thanks to DeSha throughout the morning, encouraging her to keep rallying.

Many cars barreling down the street slowed to a near-stop when they saw DeSha and her white cardboard signs, which were bleeding red paint in the morning downpour:

“COME TOGETHER STOP CRIME.”

Tony Jackson, 25, a Palmer Park resident, crossed the street to talk with DeSha around 11 a.m. Jamaican-born, Jackson said he had lived in Prince George’s County with his parents for seven years. He said he thought the neighborhood used to be more dangerous than it is now, but was glad to see DeSha trying to rally the area.

“This is good,” Jackson, a welder, said. “Once they see ya’ll doing this, it’s going to make the neighborhood come together.
“It’s time to stop the crime.”

Prince George’s County Police Capt. Michael Straughan, commander of the department’s Criminal Investigations Division, would not endorse or criticize DeSha’s rallies.

“I think it’s important that the homicide unit and detectives don’t lose focus on what they’re here to do, close the case,” Straughan said. “In this particular case, (what happened to DeSha’s son) was a tragedy. … I think in Ms. Desha’s case, homicide detectives worked long and hard. Our focus is one focus only.”

Police arrested Stephan Weaver, 22, of Bowie, Md., on March 26 and Deandre Ricardo Williams, 23, of Washington, D.C., on March 30, charging both with first-degree murder. Both men have confessed their involvement in the crime, police said.

Many drivers honked their car horns while they and passengers waved. Even if in mid-sentence, every honk gave DeSha pause.
“They all wave,” she said. “These people are tired.”

DeSha appeared tired, too. Dark circles rimmed her eyes. Her voice fluctuated and cracked unpredictably in conversation. Her tears became impossible to differentiate from the raindrops that also trickled down her face.

She admitted she was running on adrenaline these days.

She said she’s not standing on Barlowe Road holding her signs just to honor the memory of her fallen son. DeSha said she’s there because something good must come of her son’s death for her to cope with it.

“I don’t know what one person can do,” DeSha said. “But my son made a difference.”

I Want My Son BACK

“As my sufferings mounted I soon realized that there were two ways in which I could respond to my situation -- either to react with bitterness or seek to transform the suffering into a creative force. I decided to follow the latter course.”
― Martin Luther King Jr.

Today is the 11th; on some level [within me] I do not even need to see a calendar to know. Yes I know, there are 12 elevens in a year but I still have difficulty dealing with this monthly occurrence. My son, my Justin has been [gone] for two years, five months and nineteen hours and 30 minutes from the time of this post. This past weekend CJ [Green] was in Asheville and stopped by to visit Justin in his resting place; he is the first to do this. Sadly [due to the suddenness in loosing our Justin] I had no choice but to take him far from his brothers and sisters company. I truly wish [at the time] I had an alternative so more of Justin's Cuzes could visit; but alas, this was not possible.

Although, I am aware that no amount of prayers, wishes, begging or penance will bring Justin home I continue to ache for Justin's presence, his love, his hugs, his laughter, his kindness, gentle nature and friendship. [For those who do not understand the depth of my bereavement I owe no explanation.]

Decades ago I prayed to the Lord; during my life on this planet all I wished to know ~ [is true love and true happiness] and HE gifted me with Justin. Justin taught me true love, patience, joy, to put others before myself and with his presence the greatest happiness I have ever known in my lifetime [or will ever know again].

Justin and I will remain connected with an unseen [cord]; if you do not believe my words that is fine. However, I KNOW without a doubt that Justin watches over me attempting to protect me from the harsh reality of human actions.

I understand I will be in counseling for the remainder of my life as there is nothing, no [equation, example, answer, or rational] available for me to understand why Justin is no longer by my side.

I remain Justin's [loving, devoted and sad] momma throughout eternity.
