Optimism is a powerful thing -- capable of transforming an unbearable situation into something tolerable. Unknown

MAYBE?

Maybe....we were supposed to meet the wrong people before meeting the right one so that, when we finally meet the right person, we will know how to be grateful for that gift.

Maybe....when the door of happiness closes, another opens; but, often times, we look so long at the closed door that we don't even see the new one which has been opened for us.

Maybe....it is true that we don't know what we have until we lose it, but it is also true that we don't know what we have been missing until it arrives.

Maybe....the happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

Maybe....the brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; after all, you can't go on successfully in life until you let go of your past mistakes, failures and heartaches.

Maybe....you should dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you dream of, and want to do.

Maybe....there are moments in life when you miss someone - a parent, a spouse, a love, a friend, a child - so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams and hug them for real, so that once they are around you appreciate them more.

Maybe....the best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch and swing with, never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best conversation you've ever had.

Maybe....you should always try to put yourself in others' shoes, if you feel that something could hurt you, it probably will hurt the other person, too.

Maybe.....you should do something nice for someone every single day, even if it is simply to leave them alone.

Maybe....giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back. Don't expect love in return; just wait for it to grow in their heart; but, if it doesn't, be content that it grew in yours.

Maybe....happiness waits for all those who cry, all those who hurt, all those who have searched, and all those who have tried, for only they can appreciate the importance of all the people who have touched their lives.

Maybe....you shouldn't go for looks; they can deceive; don't go for wealth; even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile, because it takes only a smile to make a dark day seem bright. Find the one that makes your heart smile.

Maybe....you should hope for enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human, and enough hope to make you happy.

Maybe....you should try to live your life to the fullest because when you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling but when you die, you can be the one who is smiling and everyone around you crying.

Maybe....you could share this with those people who mean something to you, to those who have touched your life, to those who can and do make you smile when you really need it, to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down, and to all those whom you want to know that you appreciate them and their friendship.

THE CORD

The Cord

We are connected,
my child and I, by
an invisible cord
not seen by the eye.

It's not like the cord
that connects us 'til birth
this cord can't been seen
by any on Earth.

This cord does its work
right from the start.
it binds us together
attached to my heart.

I know that it's there
though no one can see
the invisible cord
from my child to me.

The strength of this cord
is hard to describe.
It can't be destroyed
It can't be denied.

It's stronger than any cord
man could create
it withstands the test
can hold any weight.

And though you are gone,
though you're not here with me,
the cord is still there
but no one can see.

It pulls at my heart
I am bruised...I am sore,
but this cord is my lifeline
as never before.

I am thankful that God
connects us this way
a mother and child
death can't take it away!

Letter to Presidential Candidate Herman Cain

I thought you were the answer then you kept talking. I worked in corporate America for 13 years and I kept being told; "You are a round peg trying to fit into a square hole." Yes I was; why? Because I prefer truth; I refuse to blow which ever way the wind takes me. I stood firmly on my principles and fought hard to maintain and protect my ethics and morals. I had to fight for I can say with experience and great conviction I found corporate America is a cesspool of narcissistic greedy and vicious liars. I defined corporate America more than once by sharing the following statement, "Let's put it this way if they could find a way to make money off of their own mothers they would not hesitate for even a second." I am offended by your statement in a recent article "....if you are not wealth and do not have a job that's your fault." (wording not verbatim) You are exactly who we need to lead this broken Nation; you will have everyone moving from 'occupy' to 'civil disobedience' in a "New York Second" (no pun intended)! Cain what makes you think you can speak to average American Citizens like you did to your former disenchanted corporate employees? Believe me I have been one; they never said anything to your face but gosh knows how much was said behind your back. I once had a manger who openly said to me, "I was reading a book on sales and it said you have to like people." OMG! I told him, "That would be a good start!" I walked out the following day when he made the most ludicrous statement I had ever heard come out of a managers mouth, "You are too happy." I replied, "I'll try to be more miserable in your presence." Do you understand where I am going with this?? To run for the office of the Presidency you have to 'like America and Americans' and be sympathetic to the egregious plight of poverty WE THE PEOPLE are being subjected too. Go for a drive, look around, talk to average folks like you have some sense. Or you could always go on back home! You are not made of what this Nation needs to rise from the ashes of the past decade of greed, incompetency, lies, theft, blatant disregard for the American Citizens lifestyle, families, ability to feed ourselves and a sense of AMERICANISM.

"Your 15 seconds are up".
